Welcome to my brand new blog! Firstly, a few words to introduce myself; my name is Peter Newbold, and I’m a professional toastmaster in Birmingham who loves bringing that certain je ne sais quoi to your special occasions – including weddings of any cultures and many other events. With this blog, I will aim to give you an insight into my world, the world of the toastmaster, whilst also using my experience to offer tips for creating events which are as enjoyable and memorable as they possibly can be.
For many, the idea of the ‘toastmaster’ can seem somewhat obscure… what exactly is it that we offer? I would like to lift the veil and show you what the role of the toastmaster is really about - and it may surprise you to hear that there’s a whole lot more to it than simply giving announcements.
In fact, I can take care of many of the important details of events such as weddings, which need dedicated on the day management. If you are hosting a big celebration yourself it can certainly be frustrating to find that you’re spending more time shepherding people into the right room and liaising with the caterers than actually spending time celebrating and relaxing with your friends and families!
As a toastmaster, part of my job is to lift this stress off your shoulders, and in this blog I’ll be looking at some of the key ways in which I can help to enhance your event, charm your crowd and make your life a whole lot easier.
Of course, my role also means that I’ve been to a lot of events in the past – from bar mitzvahs to birthday parties – so I have a strong idea of what works to get a crowd excited and enthusiastic. From food and drink to lighting and entertainment, I’ll be using this blog as a space for sharing that knowledge with you, so don’t forget to check back here whenever you’re short on inspiration.
